Avoiding Hype in Your Reviews
As Internet marketers we have to write a lot of reviews about various products and it’s important to write them in the way to not only be informative but to also sell the product. For the latter reason it’s often easy to go over the line and hype up the product too much.
It’s very important how you choose your wording to carry your message through. No matter how you personally like the product, avoid hype as much as you can. Instead of phrases like “I was blown away”, or “The product is fantastic”, use more neutral phrases like “I find it quite useful”, “It’s a well made product”. While you may think that your excitement may agitate the reader, often times it will only backfire.
Always keep in mind that the reader is skeptical about the product and is looking for information to confirm their skepticism. It’s your goal to convince them to change their mind, and hype is not the way to do it and using it will only repel them.
An informative review with subtle push toward buying will always win over a hyped up review that screams “Buy it! You’ll love it!”.
